Mumbai to Host Vajpayee's 91st Birthday Fete

A large group of Bollywood on-screen characters and vocalists would meet up to commend previous PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee's 91st birthday at a social project to be held in Mumbai, a Bharatiya Janata Party pioneer said on Friday.

The previous head administrator, who has been a writer and columnist, was conceived on December 25, 1924.

"On-screen characters and artists, for example, Padmini Kolhapure, Manoj Joshi, Sudha Chandran, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, Anup Jalota, Kumar Sanu, Deepika Chikhalia and Shabbir Kumar would be among the conspicuous figures who might perform amid 'Atal Geet Ganga', a verse occasion to observe Vajpayee's 91st birthday in Mumbai on December 25, 2015," Amarjeet Mishra, general secretary of the Mumbai BJP, said.

The occasion would be held at Dinanath Mangeshkar Auditorium in rural Vile Parle.

"Other than recitation of the BJP veteran's esteemed lyrics, recorded adaptations of his ballads by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik, Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma, Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani, Mathura MP Hema Malini, vocalist Udit Narayan, music author Anu Malik, performing artist Vivek Oberoi, and so forth would be played on the event," Mishra said.


The occasion would be a motion to express worship for the Bharat Ratna awardee, the BJP pioneer said.
